Michael S. Alvarez

Mike Alvarez practices in the area of general civil litigation, including business disputes, complex commercial litigation, contracts, and personal injury & wrongful death. Mr. Alvarez grew up in Jacksonville, Florida and attended the University of Florida where he received his Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy, cum laude in 2010 and made the Dean's list every semester.

Mr. Alvarez then went on to receive his Juris Doctorate, cum laude, from the University of Florida, Levin School of Law. Upon graduation, Mr. Alvarez was accepted into the Order of the Coif, based on graduating in the top 10% of his class. During his time at UF law, Mr. Alvarez graded onto the Florida Law Review by placing in the top 5% of his class. In his second year of law school, Mr. Alvarez became a Research Editor for the Florida Law Review. While in law school, he served as an intern to the Honorable Judge Marci Morales Howard, U.S. District Court, Middle District, Jacksonville, Florida. He also spent time volunteering for the Youth Combine, an afterschool program to promote active and fit lifestyles for middle school children.

After being admitted to the Florida Bar in 2015, Mr. Alvarez returned to Jacksonville and began practice with the Gunster, Yoakley, & Stewert, P.A. In 2016 he seized the opportunity to move back to Gainesville, and became an Assistant State Attorney, where he gained substantial trial and courtroom experience. He joined Siegel, Hughes & Ross in September 2017.

Mr. Alvarez is admitted to practice before all Florida State Courts and the U.S. District Courts for the Northern and Middle Districts of Florida. He is a member of the Eighth Judicial Circuit Bar Association.

When not at work, Mr. Alvarez loves spending time with his wife and dogs, exercising, playing sports, and visiting the mountains.
